FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Have your questions about RuffLand® Kennels? Our FAQ section is here to help! Find answers to common inquiries about our products, services and policies all in one convenient place.
GENERAL
Do your products contain BPA?
No, none of our plastics contain BPA and are all certified food-grade safe.
What are some suggestions for dogs that experience anxiety?
While anxiety can manifest itself differently in each case, creating a safe, comfortable space for your pet is important. Our kennels are a safe escape for pets and provide a natural "nesting" spot for your cat or dog.
Our kennels can also be outfitted with additional coverings such as a door cover to limit sight, kennel covers for extra insulation to noise (multiple flaps can be opened for airflow as needed), and we offer customization of vent holes to minimize chew points and keep possible soiling from going through to your car or floor coverings.
Do you offer military/first responder discounts?
We have a contract with the military exchanges to provide the majority of our kennels at more competitive discounts than those available through direct sales.
Do you have a dealer/ distributor in my area?
Please click the "Where to Buy" link in the main navigation of our website. From there you can enter your address or zip code to see where there may be a dealer in your location, you can also navigate directly on the map.
Can I use two different cc cards to make a purchase?
Our online system does not accept two forms of payment on the same order. If this is something you need, you may call into our office and our customer service staff will help to place and process the order for you. We do offer affordable payment plans through shop pay. Rates from 0%-36% APR.
Payment options through Shop Pay Installments, are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to
consumers https:/ / www.affirm.com/licenses.

Why do you not recommend kennel sizes?
Due to the different builds and sizes within the same breed, we do not make recommendations and without having firsthand contact with your dog we are not best equipped to make this important decision for you. This is why we refer you to your breeder, trainer, or vet for the best fit.
What is the height of the kennel from the bottom to the widest point?
The widest point of the kennel will be halfway up the kennel, so if you take the total height of the respective kennel and divide it by two this will give you the midway point, which is the widest point. There will be variations on the side entry kennels due to the added width of the door frame, typically adding 1.5″.
How do you determine if the kennel is a right-side or left-side entry?
You can determine this by looking at the kennel from the front, not from the pet's inside view. So for example, look directly at the front of the kennel, a right-side entry will have an additional door on the right side, as if you were reaching to your right to open it.
Why are the walls of my kennel caving in slightly?
Due to the nature of plastic, and its elasticity, your kennel may take on a slight warping nature depending on the temperature of the surroundings. It will resume its normal shape on its own or may need some encouragement with a brace propped in it while setting it someplace warm or applying heat.
I thought your kennels were indestructible.
No kennel is indestructible. Our kennels provide the perfect amount of safety and stability to protect your furry family and in some cases even you (see our testimonials). While other kennel brands claim to be “better”, they tend to be overkill, and what you gain in heavier duty material you lose in flexibility, ease of transport, interior space and clean-ability.
What does it mean when you say no bottom vent holes?
Bottom vent holes are the holes drilled on the lower half of the kennels on the two outer sides. Standard configuration for kennels includes side vent holes drilled on the both the top half and the bottom half of the kennels, though having no bottom vent holes is an option we continue to offer. Neither option includes vent holes drilled in the floor of the kennel.
Why do you offer no bottom vent holes as an option?
Some customers use our kennels for transporting puppies, or dogs on longer trips, and to keep any urination from going out of the kennel into the vehicle, they choose this option. Additionally, others use the kennels with bedding material, such as hay, that they want to keep contained.
Care Instructions: What are the dos and don'ts for taking care of my kennel?
Clean regularly: Use mild dish soap or pet-safe enzymatic cleaners.
Avoid harsh chemicals: No bleach or ammonia.
Rinse thoroughly: Remove all soap or cleaner residues.
Wipe or air dry: Let the kennel dry completely before use.
Neutralize odors: Sprinkle baking soda for stubborn smells before cleaning.
Scratches: If your dog scratches the kennel, you can take sandpaper to the area with the scratch to smooth out the plastic. Quick exposure to a flame with a lighter will return the finish to a shine.
Why does my product color look different than the website photos?
Due to differences in lighting, photography, screen resolution, browser settings, and device displays, the actual color and appearance of your kennel and accessories may vary slightly from the images shown on our website or in promotional materials. While we make every effort to display product colors as accurately as possible, exact color representation cannot be guaranteed.
In addition, slight variations in color, texture, or finish between production batches are a normal part of the manufacturing process and are not considered defects. Color matching between separate orders or products is not guaranteed.
ACCESSORIES
What is the difference between the D-ring and bracket tie-down kit?
Aside from the look of the product they perform the exact same function. They both have a working load limit of 1000 lbs.
What kennel cover sizes do you carry?
We only carry brown and camo insulated kennel covers that fit the intermediate, large and xl sizes of kennels, working with all door configurations.
You have coupler kits to attach the kennels side by side, but can they also stack vertically?
Our kennels can stack vertically on each other with the unique raised portion that allows one kennel to nest on top of a like-sized kennel.
Can your kennel dividers be used on all sizes and styles?
No, our kennel dividers are made for the intermediate, large, and XL sizes only, and will not work on side entry versions of the intermediate and large unless extra vent holes are drilled to accommodate the pin. They are also not compatible with Gen I kennel models without modification of ventilation holes.
SHIPPING & HANDLING
What are your approximate shipping/delivery dates?
Estimated delivery dates are determined at time of shipping, NOT from the time of placing the order. So for example, Spee Dee delivery is generally a 1-3 day transit from the time it gets picked up from our facility. You can use the approximate ship dates once you receive tracking on your order. Prior to that your order is processing and no ship dates are provided.
Can my accessories ship together?
Yes, we will combine all accessories to ship together, however they will not ship inside the kennel. Our packaging and inventory is handled and prepared differently for the kennels vs. the accessories. This also allows for a tracking number to be provided for each package and minimize delays if one item in the order is on backorder. Accessories may not ship on the same day as the Kennels, it could be before or after depending on inventory levels. Please watch for separate tracking.
Do you ship directly to Canada?
Yes we do! Please call in to our office to discuss shipping options if ordering multiple items. We also have a number of dealers across Canada that you can locate from our “Where to Find” tab on our website.
Can you ship internationally?
We can ship to most countries through our website. It will show your country if you are visiting from outside the US, or you can choose your country’s flag to display in your currency and to see all-in shipping costs.
Do you offer free shipping?
Given that we already cover a portion of the true shipping cost on most of the kennels and some of the accessories, we do not offer free shipping. There are some dealers and retailers that offer free, or reduced, shipping depending on your order.
My package was stolen, what do I do?
We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Due to the increased number of thefts, we suggest requesting “delivery signature required” on shipments if you have any doubts about the packages being left outside of your residence.

What is your warranty policy?
We offer a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty on our kennel bodies, along with any accessories that are roto-molded, such as the Easy Rider™ Top Trays, Water Holes™, Water Toppers™, Clean Cuts™, Toss Bosses™, and Rod Pod™. Other accessories carry a limited warranty based on vendor policies.
